 2. Lower the Humidity level

When the humidity level is greater than 50 percent, dust mites thrive. In order to reduce the dust mites, dry environment is preferred. You can achieve this goal by installing a dehumidifier.
In dry seasons, it is recommended to let the fresh enter the room by opening the window for one hour every day.

3. Keep yourself and your surrounding neat and Clean

Yes, staying a clean freak will surely let these dust mites away from you. Change your clothes daily, thoroughly dust the surfaces regularly, make your bed daily and do everything that can make you and your environment look clean and healthy.

 4. Washing clothes at high temperature

It is recommended to wash clothes, beddings, pillows, mattress sheets at very high temperature. Dust mites cannot survive if the temperature is higher than 54 to 60 degree Celsius. You should wash all your furnishing twice a month at this temperature.

 5. Freeze your items

This may seem a little strange but you need to freeze all those toys and stuff that can easily fit into the freezer. After freezing for 24 hours, vacuum these items for removing dust mites easily.

6. Get a Mite Proof cover for Mattress

Buy some covers for your pillows and mattress that are capable of trapping these bugs inside the cover. Such covers do not allow dust mites to into bedding and pillows.

7. Use Air Purifier

You can use an air purifier to get rid of dust mites. There are different types of air purifiers available in the market. Choose the one which eliminates dust mites efficiently.
Air Purifier cleans the air from dust on which these mites feed. Eliminating dust from home cut their food source, helps in killing them and reducing their growth rate.

8. Use Vacuum Cleaner

A UV air purifier can kill germs and dust mites, these insects end up their life and fall on the floor. In order to completely get rid of them, you then need to vacuum them through a vacuum cleaner. You can also use a UV vacuum cleaner to  vacuum dust mites remnants.

9. Reduce the Number of Houseplants

Plants are heaven for dust mites if are not regularly wiped by using some damp clothes. You can get rid of extra dust by reducing the number of plants in your home. If you want to have plants in your home, make sure to have air purifying plants only.

10. Use Essential Oils

There are different kind of essential oils and sprays available in the market that can help you get rid of dust mites. Use these oils and mix them with sprays to get better results.
